Constance Drew, MBA · IEP & MET Clarity Coach

Where Advocacy Finds Calm, and Clarity Dispels Conflict.

About

About Mai Laveau

I am Constance M. Drew, MBA an IEP Clarity Coach who blends professional Special Education teacher and SPED‑Coordinator experience with executive function coaching and trauma‑aware communication. I help parents, teens, and adults understand the special education process — especially when MET evaluation reports and IEP documents feel overwhelming or unclear.

I do not offer legal advocacy.

I offer interpretation, preparation, emotional grounding, and strategic communication — the pieces families often need most.

My Philosophy
Advocacy should feel calm, clear, and collaborative.
You deserve to understand your evaluations, feel confident in your voice, and know exactly what to ask for. I help you move from confusion to clarity — from overwhelm to grounded confidence.

Why I do the Work
As a certified Special Education teacher/IEP Coordinator, I’ve spent years supporting families through the IEP process — watching parents walk into meetings overwhelmed, unheard, and exhausted. I learned that advocacy isn’t just paperwork and policy. It’s emotional regulation, nervous system safety, and helping parents feel seen.

How I Work
My sessions follow a structured, calming rhythm:
  1. Clarity Setting — We begin with a grounding conversation to understand your concerns, school dynamics, and goals.
  2. Document Review — I walk through your MET or IEP line by line, highlighting strengths, gaps, and opportunities.
  3. Advocacy Strategy — Together we build scripts, questions, and requests tailored to your next meeting.
  4. Confidence Ritual — A short grounding practice to help you enter the meeting centered and prepared.
  5. Post‑Session Summary — You receive a structured outline of next steps and recommendations.

Who I Serve
I work with:
  • Parents navigating their child’s first IEP
  • Families facing conflict or unclear communication from the school
  • Neurodivergent parents who need clarity + EF scaffolding
  • Teens learning to self‑advocate
  • Adults revisiting their own IEP history
  • Anyone who needs a calm, structured walkthrough of the IEP process

What I Do
I guide clients through both IEP documents and MET evaluations, helping them understand what the school has assessed, what the results mean, and how those findings should shape goals, accommodations, and services.
Clients come to me when they need:
  • MET Review & Analysis — A clear, plain‑language breakdown of evaluation results, eligibility criteria, strengths, needs, and how the MET should inform the IEP.
  • IEP Interpretation — Line‑by‑line clarity on goals, accommodations, service minutes, and present levels.
  • Meeting Preparation — Scripts, questions, and communication strategies tailored to the upcoming meeting.
  • Accommodation Mapping — Identifying needed supports and how to request them effectively.
  • Communication Strategy — Trauma‑informed, ND‑affirming language that keeps meetings collaborative.
  • Confidence Coaching — Emotional regulation tools and grounding rituals to reduce overwhelm.
  • My work helps clients slow the process down, understand what matters most, and walk into meetings grounded rather than overwhelmed.

Testimonials

"I showed up to my son's MET meeting completely overwhelmed. I didn't know what they were evaluating, what the results actually meant, or what I was allowed to ask. After working with Constance, I walked in knowing exactly what questions to ask and what to listen for. For the first time, I felt like I was part of the process instead of just sitting there while people talked about my kid."

- Parent of a 16-year-old in Maricopa County

My son is 17 and nobody at the school had talked to us about transition planning at all. I didn't even know it was supposed to start at 16. Constance walked us through the entire process — what the school owes him, what vocational rehab can do, and how to start building a plan that actually fits who he is. I wish I had found her two years ago

- Parent testimonial

My son refused to work with anyone. He'd shut down with tutors, therapists, everyone. Constance met him where he was — no judgment, no pushing, just genuine curiosity about how his brain works. Within a few weeks he was using a planning system he designed himself. He went from failing three classes to passing everything. More importantly, he stopped hating himself for struggling.

- Parent of a 15-year-old ADHD teen

My daughter is brilliant but she was drowning — missing assignments, losing things, shutting down when tasks felt too big. Constance worked with her directly, not around her. She helped my daughter build systems that actually fit her brain, not systems designed for neurotypical kids. Her grades didn't just improve — she started believing she was capable again.
